     The Honors Band, under the direction of Mrs. Anderson and assisted by Mr. Hudson, is one of our advanced bands at Navo Middle School which consists of 7th and 8th graders that have completed the Beginner Band course for their instrument.  Students in all of our advanced bands will enjoy rehearsing with complete instrumentation of all instruments each day.  The advanced bands will also have the opportunity to perform many times throughout the year for a variety of audiences throughout the school and community.  The Navo Band has three advanced bands designed to meet the needs of the students enrolled.  The groups are skill-based and are designed to be a continuation of the Beginner Band. 

     

     The Honors Band is the most advanced group in the Navo Band.  The Honors Band is designed to emphasize continued individual development in areas such as technique, tone, and music literacy through fast-paced instruction in a progressive curriculum.  Students in the Honors Band will perform high-level middle school and high school literature.  The Honors Band performs a Fall Concert, Winter Concert in December and a Spring Concert in May, a spring festival contest, as well as UIL Contest in the Spring.   

     

     The Honors Band will combine in the fall with our Symphonic Band and Concert Band to perform at the Sounds of the Stadium Performance.
