     Mr. Hudson has been teaching at Navo MS as the assistant band director since the school opened in the fall of 2006.  Before coming to Navo, Mr. Hudson was a private trumpet instructor.  He has over twenty years teaching experience as a private teacher and trumpet clinician. His students have a history of success in performance at all levels of competition. 

 

     Mr. Hudson has also performed in virtually every conceivable genre which a trumpet player can perform. Notable performances include appearances with The Temptations, and Ringling Bros. Circus. He was twice a semi-finalist in the National Trumpet Solo Competition, was an International Trumpet Guild Conference Scholarship recipient, and was a co-founder of the Fry Street Brass Ensemble. Mr. Hudson has studied with some of the greatest trumpet virtuosi in America, including Leonard Candelaria, John Hagstrom, and Vincent DiMartino. 

     Currently, Mr. Hudson performs regularly with the Denton Bible Church Orchestra, and Denton Community Theater. Mr. Hudson has lived in Denton for over 20 years. His wife, Lynne (who plays and teaches flute) and their two sons, Samson (currently serving in the Army) and Thomas (music ed student at LSU) are big fans of music and baseball.
